This is a simple mp3 tag editor written in perl.
It's mainly written as an example of how to use the perl_Reaction
extension but will be of use to anyone who wants to edit mp3 files.

It supports ID3 version 1.1 only, due to the limtations of the underlying
MP3::Info  module.

This realease adds genre support.


Perl 5.8.5 Amiga release .04 or later
Perl_Reaction extension. 0.01 or later.
MP3::Info (supplied) latest version available at cpan.perl.org
(make, abc-shell, etc required for installation of MP3::Info)
The latest version at cpan at time of typing (1.20)has a bug WRT saving
track number and genre so you should use the fixed version supplied.


Copy the id3_edit.pl script to the location of your choice, preferably
somewhere in your abc-shell path.
Unpack and install MP3::Info.pm by following the instructions in it's


Type id3_edit.pl at the abc-shell prompt or

perl <full path>id3_edit.pl at the amigaos shell prompt.

Select an mp3 file with the Getfile gadget at the top of the window, edit the
various entries, save with the "Write To Mp3 File" button at the bottom of the
window. Repeat ad nauseum.

Known bugs:

Due to an apparent limit in the popup the number of genres is limited to the
