[Show content] [Show crashlogs] [Replace file] "PNG Icon Editor" is the next generation of the package formerly known as "PNG_Editing_Suite". Yes, this is another one of my 'bloated' programs created with Hollywood 2.5. I hope you enjoy it! *****The pngalpha library 2.0 (available on Aminet) is required to use the PNG Icon Editor!***** First of all, it should be understood that this program is NOT designed for the creation of new PNG icons (for that you should get Photogenics or ImageFX or some other fully featured graphics program). Rather, "PNG Icon Editor" is designed for doing simple editing and image manipulations of existing 32-bit icons through an easy-to-use GUI. The GUI can be somewhat customized by changing the font style in "Preferences" and by importing a different "Background" image. (The operators GUI can also be customized independently of the main window.) PNG Icon Editor can be used for such things as: *Separating Alpha-Channels *Adding Space (increasing margins) *Blurring *Box Fade *Circular Fade *Cropping (decreasing margins) *Elliptical Fade *Flipping *Glow Effect *Merging Two Images Together *Pixel Plot Editing (for both image and alpha channel) *Rotating *Scaling *Shadow Effect *Shape Fade *Shine Reflection Effect *Smoothing Edges (for either, or both, the image and the alpha channel) *Tinting *Adding Text *Making a Text Stencil over an Image If you want to make an icon out of an image that you have tweaked in the PNG Icon Editor, you can either add the ".info" extension when you save it (this requires the png.iconmodule to work), or you can save the image and then import it into an already existing icon using the "Icon Image/Load..." menu option in the Icon Information window. (This can be done for both the standard and selected state images). Starting with Version 1.1 you can also use PNG Icon Editor to import and tweak images from 32-bit icons that are not strictly in the PNG image format without any extra steps. But in order for this to work, you need to do is have Stephan Rupprecht's "CopyIcon" (available from OS4 Depot) in your "SYS:Utilities/" drawer, and you need to have the png.iconmodule (png_im.lha from OS4 Depot) installed in "LIBS:IconModules/". Starting with Version 1.4 you can now view and edit the selected state image of 32bit icons when you load an icon that has two states to begin with. You can also now easily save the icons with both states in one easy step. (Just add the ".info" extension to the name when you save it.) If you want to save dual-state icons in the standard Amiga format, use the save requester in the upper left-hand box; but if you want your icon to be in the PNG format, use the save requester in the lower right-hand box. (Again, just be sure to add the ".info" extension to the name when you save it.) History: Version 1.9 (1/17/08) *Fixed a bug that would cause crashes on OS4 classic systems (if PNG_Icon_Editor already works fine for you, there is no need to download this version) Version 1.8 (10/28/07) *Added the ability to save dual-state icons in either the PNG format or the standard Amiga format (requires "CopyIcon" by Stephan Rupprecht). Version 1.7 (10/4/07) *Added a "Smooth Edges" operator. *Added a "Shape Fade" operator. *Made the alpha channel in the Glow effect super smooth (noticeable on angled edges). *Also added alpha channel smoothing to "Circular Fade" and "Eliptical Fade" Version 1.6 (9/30/07) *Made the Glow effect smoother. Version 1.5 (9/29/07) *Fixed a few bugs connected with the switching between first and second images in dual-state icons. *Added a couple of new options to the Glow Operator. The "Automatic" option creates a MUCH better glow effect, but disables certain other options. It is highly recommended that the "Automatic" option be always used (unless unusual circumstances would warrant an abnormal glow effect). Version 1.4 (9/12/07) *Added an additional option to the "Text" Operator. *Added the ability to switch between first and second images in dual-state icons (thus making the second state available for editing). *Added the ability to save dual-state icons. Version 1.3 (8/24/07)---this is a "cosmetic" release (no new functionality has been added) *Fixed a graphical glitch in the "Pixel Plot" Operator. *Added a drawer of new sample icons called "GlowSplash" (which are Mason's icons with the addition of the "Shine Reflect" effect). Version 1.2 (8/22/07) *Improved the graphical display on many of the operator windows. *Added an additional option in the "Merge" operator. *Added a "Text" operator. (Thanks to pvanni for the suggestion.) *Added an operator to make a "Shine Reflect" effect. Version 1.1 (8/18/07) *Added the usage of Stephan Rupprecht's "CopyIcon" (available from OS4 Depot) to allow for the automatic loading of icons in any format. (Thanks to Chris Young for suggesting this.) *Added the ability to drag into the file requester any program with an icon that you want to edit and the PNG Icon Editor should load the icon without requiring that you add the ".info" extension. Version 1.0 (8/17/07) *The formerly available "PNG_Editing_Suite" was the first version of what is now the "PNG Icon Editor." Future: *Any suggestions that you might have. *********** If you like this program and would like to drop me some e-mail or PayPal encouragement (or if you have any suggestions to make this program better) my e-mail address is: revbloedel()gmail.com OR revbloedel()yahoo.com.***********
