Since LiveForIt's X1000 is broken, he would need to get any help he can if he is going to make a worthy UAE successor to the original 1.0.0 JIT version. But this has to be pretty clear to LiveForIt that he has to follow the advices he get very carefully. The first priority should be to get the colors and the display appear CORRECTLY. They don't in this new 1.1.2 version. This is very important to keep in mind and also the sole reason why the new version will be abanded for now.

I like the new features he added, P96 works well with workbench 3.2 as well as bsdsocket et accelerator.library. As already stated, he’s doing it freely and is the first who put his hands in OS4 port of UAE. I’m not a developper but if he can’t reproduce the bug, I assume it’s harder to squash it. So I assume the code is available somewhere and everybody interested to help can have a look at it. Peace and love

Thanks Kas1e, and you're absolutely right. I suspected this problem would happen again and unfortunately, it did. It's the second time the colors appear wrong in the new version and the new version is really nothing special. The only difference there seems to be with the new version, is this Acceleration Hunk, but this could easily be added to the old version of UAE with its RIGHT colors, so I use the version from 2015 that was made by the original author. I think it should be pretty clear for LiveForIt that the new version will NOT be picked by any users, because the first thing they will notice, is wrong colors and that's reason enough to aband this new version. So yes, you're absolutely right. It's an unfortunate situation but just like you say. This new version will be abanded. I already abanded it in favour of the right 2015 version.

Don't bother with. I already explain to LiveForIt in the topic about uae on amigans.net year ago when exactly and with which change problems starts (firstly with speed, when it start to be slower in 2 times in few aspects, and then with wrong colors in some conditions). I explained everything, showing videos, but LiveForIt simple refuses to accept that there is a problem with certain code commits he did at some point, but instead saying that everything done right and should be fast and cool and that he loose interesest to develop it futher, because of those bug-reports he don't want to see. After months of trying to pinpoit on that problem i just giving up with bug reports which seems just sounds not like something to improve, but like attack for no reasson. So, even if there is many users with the same problems, and this seems not enough to see a pattern and to try to deal with, that mean don't bother with. This is just version of UAE which works for LiveForIt, and if someone found it good, use it, if not, not use it. But you need no bother that major issues will be fixed, as LiveForIt dont remember about them, and didn't see them, and "works for me (tm)" :)

I have to side with Kas1e on this one. He is right. Nobody is going to pick the new version of UAE as long as this GREEN/PURPLE color error appears. I'm sorry, but I would strongly recommend that you REMOVE this update and start fixing it. Since you're the one who made this new version, the consequence is yours alone. If you don't have hardware or knowledge to fix the issue, then DON'T DO the new version. Let somebody like Kas1e do it. He knows what he is talking about. Sorry dude.

Yes, I agree with you that unfortunately there are only excuses for many problems at the moment. The wrong colors are there, I can confirm this myself... GR when running games and WHDload games. Using an old version of p96 or simply disabling BSDSocket support does not seem like a plausible solution to me.

EUAE has really great potential under AmigaOS 4.1, as it is really useful on fast computers such as X5000 and Qemu, and we need this emulator so that we are backward compatible.

Perhaps the EUAE project simply needs more support, but this support must also be allowed so that we can get great emulation for our little OS.

Purple problem is the same problem i point out many times years back in the thread related to uae, and you just refused to fix it , saying that this is how it should be. I even show you video, showing you how to reproduce, explain everything, but you just skip it all together. And now you say him about "older p96". You didn't remember it all ?

I understand and respect the problem. I think everyone with RadeonRX and the Polaris graphic board on systems like the X5000, need to use the 2015 version of UAE from the author that made the JIT for it originally. That one works. I only had to add the Acceleration Hunk, and the old version worked even better. Older version of Picasso96, you say? I never touched it, since all the UAE stuff runs through latest RunInUAE. I merely use it for running those WHDLoad games anyway. But yeah, have to use the 2015 version of that UAE JIT stuff, with your Acceleration Hunk. Thanks anyway. Perhaps Kas1e could look into your UAE? He has an X5000 with Polaris and he's doing lots of similar things. He could possible help you out. Keep it up.

When running games in UAE, they're either purple or green or both. I suppose this new version is not meant for those of us running PPC Amiga systems using the RadeonRX driver. Using the key combos you once mentioned earlier, doesn't help either. The correct color display should happen regardless of running OCS/ECS/AGA games in UAE. In my case, through latest RunInUAE. The ordinary version of UAE, from the original author, actually works perfectly on PPC systems with RadeonRX driver, as the colors are displayed correctly right away. My advice is that if the author of this version should get in contact with developers using the RadeonRX driver on their systems. Thank you.

Regardless of the screenmode in 8, 16 or 32-bit, the colors when running an OCS/ECS/AGA screen like a game, appear wrong, hence the purple and the green colors, just like Mickey stated himself. Apart from wrong colors, the new UAE works as supposed to. Please contact Kas1e, so that he can help fix the color issue in latest UAE, as he has an X5000 himself using the RadeonRX driver based on Polaris, thank you kindly. For now, I stick to the 2015 version that has the correct colors, using the Acceleration hunk, which works very well.

If my theory is correct, the colors display correctly if you're using the RadeonHD drivers, which often supports older cards. The new version here of UAE might not have been made with users of the RadeonRX driver in mind, found in many X5000, new SAM460 systems and certainly also the A1222 as well. My suggestion is to look closely on how the 2015 version of the UAE JIT implementation was made, and compare that with this latest version, to easier see the problem with wrong color display on RadeonRX setup. Apart from wrong colors, the latest UAE JIT runs the way it should.

But the colors are still wrong, being green and too much black. My X5000 is using the RadeonRX driver from a 4GB Sapphire RadeonRX 580 graphic board based on Polaris 10. The 2015 version of UAE works fully correct, even when I added the accelerator hunk. The new version works as well, except the colors are all wrong. You're almost there now. Only this to correct and off we go ;)

Thanks for the tip. I will try that suggestion pressing CTRL+LWIN+S for 32bit screens and see how it solves it. The 2015 version works right away with the colors and the screen. Hope this can be fixed so that this works automatically as supposed to.

The version is still 1.0.0, but from May 25th of 2025. The inclusion of the Acceleration.library dubbed acceleration.hunk, is a nice addition. However, the new version of UAE now has the screen centered but still with wrong colors (still PURPLE screen). Apart from that, it ran perfectly well and extremely smooth. For now, I'm still using UAE with JIT from 2015, but added the Acceleration Hunk library stuff to the S drawer of the emulated OS, being Workbench 3.1 and added the mentioned command right under SetPatch. I can confirm that the accelerator works perfectly and it makes the emulation even smoother, regardless of the UAE version. Only the purple color error needs to be solved, then the new version of UAE can be fully used. Keep up the improvement.

Thank you!
I hope the issue with the purple color screen can be sorted out, as the emulator is not of much use this way.

I run the complete 2015 JIT version of E-UAE through RunInUAE provided with AmigaOS4, using the AmiGFX driver of it. I'll have to try it on 4.1 later on. Use an RGB 16bit screen and the problem goes away! Set amiga.screen_type=ask

So I can't blame myself. I will look into it and see if I can fix it. The ChangeLog does mention byteswapping.

I tested the SDL version I did and that works with AGA. No other differences in the code. Something to do with AMIGFX. Nevertheless i'll still put the fixed one (with UI for disk swapping) up even if I can't get AGA going. Then i'm going to look at uae4all.

There'll be a version with file requesters for disk swapping within a few hours. It's faster than the other versions i've seen, but not by a lot.

Strange thing is, I also did an SDL GL version and it was slower than every other SDL version of e-uae i've used, and I have no idea why.
