Some of the other data is nonsense too, as the external part is sited poorly - you can see by comparing to the Wet AppIcon that the external temperature sensor is reading a couple of degrees higher than it probably should be.

Visually, that's the sort of thing you're looking for. 
 
I haven't done much extensive testing, but it works under OS4/USB.  Mine is connected to a Raspberry Pi using PyWWS under normal circumstances - see http://www.unsatisfactorysoftware.co.uk/weather/

Obviously the libusb.library auto-init isn't checking whether it actually opened or not, but if you install it it should at least start up.
