Open the DOS preferences editor and tick &quot;Allow asterisk in pattern matching&quot;. After that both #? and * work the same way.

The only recommendation I can make is that it could easily be expanded to accept an asterisk, its common place elsewhere so lets embrace it.

The standard Amiga wild cards are not supported at the moment, which might be confusing. An icon is selected when its name contains the string you have entered.

When clicking F1 to write in a word for the search pattern and click enter, nothing really happens. Can you upload a screenshot and give a better explanation of what this tool is suppose to do? Otherwise, keep up the good work.
