Description :
zeRace 0.7 AmigaOS4.X
ENGLISH VERSION ONLY
Special Edition for the French Party Amigateries:
http://www.clubevolution4.com/AmiGateries/

Authors:
--------
concept / code: Antoine "Royale" Jacquet
site: http://royale.zerezo.com/zerace/
OS4 port by Hugues Nouvel HunoPPC.

INSTALLATION:
- Copy the folder game in your games section, start the executable of
ZeRace-0.7-Os4.exe
- To play a game against bots, you will first need to launch a local server :
./server "My private server" 5 1 private col
Then launch as many bots as you want :
./bot_anticip localhost 3600 0
./bot_anticip localhost 3600 8
./bot_anticip localhost 3600 16
Then you can join your own server in zeRace in the "network game" section.
If you are under Windows, replace by "server.exe" and "bot_anticip.exe" in
MS-DOS commands.
You can also use the "local-server-with-bots" scripts.
syntax:
./server 'server_name' nb_laps network_speed (public|private) (col|nocol)
server_name : the name of the server
nb_laps : the number of laps to complete for each race
network_speed : frequency of network messages (1 for fast network, 10 for slow
network...)
private : this server will not be listed in the 'internet games'
col : the server will compute collisions between cars
./bot_anticip host port random
host : host or ip of the server to connect to
port : port number of the server to connect to
random : frequency of random moves (0 = no random moves, 1 = only random, 1000 =
1/1000 random moves)
- track creation for this game
In order to create new tracks, you need to have the 2 following files in the
"tracks" directory :
A "circuit.png" image, which is what the track will really look like (what the
player will see on the screen). The image format is PNG 1024x768 24 bits.
A "circuit_function.png" at the same format, which explain how the car mush
react on the track. For each pixel in the picture :
The green layer is the track quality (the greener, the faster). The "road"
should be "255". The "0" values are walls.
The red layer are "checkpoints". The track is splited in 32 checkpoints (pixels
with a red layer between 0 and 7 are first waypoint, pixels with red layer
between 8 and 15 are second waypoint, etc).
The blue layer is the grip (high values slide a lot).
To do such a picture, you can use layers in "addition" mode.
You must also edit the "list.txt" file in order to add infos for your track.
Disable your internet connection since this file is overwritten each time the
game is launched !

- Enjoy

Control :
- Keyboard Only
- Change your key in the configuration screen

NOTES:
- Added a new bot based on checkpoints
- Option to disable internet accesses
- Tested on AmigaOS 4.1 on AmigaOne G3 / G4 and SAM
- No support joystick

INCLUDE:
- COPYING
