What is it?
-----------
TouchPrefs is the settings editor for the touch.device.
It provides a ReAction GUI with the following functionalities:
- Display of the list of the current connected touchscreen devices;
- Calibration & Test.
TouchPrefs should be considered a beta release until version 1.0 is reached.
Installation
------------
Copy the folder wherever you like.
Usage
-----
Double-click on the touchprefs icon will run the application.
TouchPrefs is an amigaos application, so you can use exchanger to control the
running state.
After connecting a touch device, it will appear in the list of available drives,
if a compatible driver has been found.
After connecting a touch device for the first time, you will probably need to
calibrate it.
Perform the following steps to calibrate a touchscreen device:
.1 select the device to be calibrated in the list of available units;
.2 go to the "Calibration" frame and select the monitor corresponding to your
touchscreen, in case you have a multi-monitor configuration;
.3 Press the "Calibrate" button to start the Calibration process;
.4 A fullscreen window should open: press with your finger in the center of the
3 squares that will appear in sequence.
Use a pointed object for better accuracy.
.5 After acquiring the three points, the calibration window will close
automatically.
.6 Check the calibration result by pressing the "Test" button.This will open a
fullscreen window.
.7 Press and drag your finger or a pointed object across the touchscreen surface
and verify that the squares are drawn in the right position.
Press ESC to return to the main window.
.8 If the calibration check is not satisfactory, go back to step 3.
.9 Press "Save" to permanently save the calibration status for the current unit.
Note
--------------
For the calibration to be successful, check that the screen modes displayed on
the touchscreen precisely cover the visible area.
Known problems
--------------
- Refreshing the touch points causes flickering.
- The automatic choice of the screenmode for the calibration/test screen may
fail with a dual graphics card setup.
