ASSIST: Get the most out of your Amiga

Assist is a knowledge base of helpful information for AmigaOS users originally
based on the 'Get the most out of your Amiga' PDF guide.

AmigaOS 4.1 (Update 2 or later)

To access videos the following are required:
 - Wget installed in C:
 - getVideo installed in C:
 - Compatible player, such as MPlayer

For Jack AppStore integration:
 - Jack 4.0.0 or later installed and running


Unpack the Assist archive into the directory of your choice.

You can drag and drop the Assist drawer into any directory you like on your

 - T:Assist/Downloads is no longer used as the default destination for downloads
 - When downloading Assist now checks if user has set a destination directory
and asks if not
 - Downloads drawer button is now always shown unless the user has opted to
download via the Jack AppStore
 - Dependency downloader fixed so files are downloaded to the user specified
directory rather than T:Assist
 - Ringhio notifications icon is no longer copied to T:Assist
 - Changed how multiple instances of Assist are prevented (no longer using
 - Resolved error that occured if Exchange was used to 'Remove' Assist
 - Fullscreen option removed from preferences, fullscreen can still be used via
F10 or ARexx but the setting is no longer saved
 - Assist no longer offers to delete the log file when switching logging off
 - When writing to the log a 'busy' pointer is now shown
 - If the log file destination is changed a new file is now created rather than
Assist attempting to move an exisitng file
 - If a path or URL is copied to the system clipboard this is now logged
 - Tweaked log entry for video play/save events
 - If a duplicate unpacked archive is found Assist will ask whether to
overwrite, rather than leaving to UnArc
 - If an archive that already exists is downloaded and the user chooses to
overwrite, the deletion of the old archive/directory will be logged
 - When logging unpacked archives the sub-directory the archive was unpacked to
is now included in the path
 - When using 'auto unpack' one combined notification is now shown after
unpacking rather than two
 - Added 'DOWNLOADSDIR' ARexx command
 - Replaced 'QUIT' ARexx command with 'CLOSE'
 - Removed non-working 'SEARCHYOUTUBE' ARexx command
 - Added 37 new articles and 1 new tutorial
 - Various articles updated
