It's in the driver, but there's no real point in using MONO modes. But I can't take the mono mode out of the modefile, since that requires an 68k gcc assembler which I used to run on my A4000. Mono files are played through both channels when a stereo mode is chosen if the panning is set to the middle.

Samwel: Well AHI can only play MONO or STEREO samples currently. Yes, my note was probably off topic, but I hoped that Dave would read it.
I don't even used MONO modes, I'm just annoyed when I play test sound in mono mode and audio goes FARRRTTTT. :)
However, I distantly recall that MONO mode problem has something todo with CMI, but not sure about it anymore.

@Ch Isn't this the task of AHI to handle MONO/STEREO/MULTI-CHANNEL and not the driver? Maybe Davy could change the AHI sources to play mono files to both channels if mono is detected?

Version .12 cures the breaking sound problem with other freqs than 44/22 KHz. Thanks Dave!
But is there a way to make the mono modes work or disable them? Currently they cause a similar, really terrible sound.

Come on. Reading the manuals usually pays off. And even if you check this thread you see the solution. Which was more trouble, installing the old driver and not trying to figure out the problem, or take a look at the manual?

Yes it's our fault we havn't read the manual, not the fact your drivers dont work (on the default settings, Or at all). Thanks for that.

48KHz AHI setting is not working anymore here. Can anyone confirm? 44.1KHz is fine.
Sound gets very bad distortion with 48KHz.

Please change this boost thingy to be an check box option in Mixer instead of an external exe file. More professional that way.. :-)

If you have no sound with version 5.7, make sure all units in AHI prefs are set to Front (line out), not digital out.

Thanks a hell of alot for starting to fix the µA1 sound drivers. OS4 really needs to fully support the board it's released with IMHO.

Actually I do have some CD audio. If I turn the volume all the way up on my speakers I can just barely hear the CD.

No CD sound on Micro A1.
Sound levels appear to be set properly now for everything else. I don't have to run mixer any more to get rid of the distortion.
