Short: OS4 native Jpeg Loader for ImageFX Author: Andy Broad <andy()broad.ology.org.uk> Requires: OS4, only tested with ImageFX 4.5 Release: 1.3 This is a ppc native replacement for the JPEG loader in ImageFX. Advantages: It's built against jpeglib version 6b and supports more jpeg formats than the loader that comes with ImageFX. Most importantly for me I don;y get "unsupported SOF 0xC2" any more! Second advantage being a native build it's about 15x faster! Installation: Move the current jpeg (called JPEG) loader to a safe place. Don't lose it in case you want to switch back. Copy the file modules/loaders/ajpeg to Imagefx4:Modules/Loaders/ Copy the file libs/aifxjpegload.library to LIBS: Notes: This loader comes in two parts a small 68k "stub" and the real loader aifxjpegload.library. From reading between the lines, studying snoopdos logs and general experimentaion, it seems that ImageFX calls MakeLibrary to create it's modules, which is why this couldn't be 100% native. History: 1.3: Altered File type detection to detect jpegalike files such as "Exif" (thanks to Ken Wilde for spotting that one) 1.2: Fixed crash if fed an non-jpeg file via the loadas requester. 1.1: (Private Build) fixed incorrect name in loadas list. 1.0: First public release. Todo: Implement preferences to choose smoothing etc. Maybe make some loaders for other file types. License: This program is the copyright of the author (Andy Broad).
