![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() WormHole allows you to transfer files to another computer within the same LAN without having to make any adjustments. The main advantage of using WormHole between Amiga systems is that it can handle icons and all AmigaOS file attributes in one step. Main features: - Transfers all Amiga file attributes - Transfers icons automatically - Zero configuration - Transfers files bi-directional at the same time - Transfer multiple files parallel at the same time - Multiplatform The program window: The whirling image of WormHole is a window with transparent borders. You can grab anywhere in the window to move it. By default, it is always visible above other windows, but this property can be set in the preferences menu. On Amiga, the traditional menu is used, while on other systems the program functions are available via a local menu. The light in the middle of the window indicates the current connection status. - green > connected - yellow > search for contact - red > no connection The name of the local machine appears above the light, and the name of the connected remote machine appears below it. During a longer data transmission, a progress indicator ring is displayed in the window on the sending side. On the remote side, there is currently no feedback on the transmission progress. Usage: 1. Start the program in both computers. 2. Wait until they are connected. Some seconds (lamp changes to green). 3. Drag and drop file to the program window (the whirling wormhole). 4. At the receiver computer accept file and select save path. The menu offers additional options and settings that speak for themselves. On Amiga systems the program runs as a commodity. It can be controlled by Exchange. Restrictions (currently): - only IPV4 network interfaces - drop only one file at a time - no drawers - no cancel of transfer - not all error conditions are handled To run the applet version of the program (WormHole.hwa), you need the Hollywood Player app, which is available for a number of platforms from the developer's website. https://hollywood-mal.com/download.html Note that the functionality of the program run in this way may currently differ from the native releases. FAQ: Q: How can I see there is any progress on data transfer? A: At the rim of the blue wormhole two progress bar showing while data transfer is in progress. The upper green bar is showing the receiving data, while the lower red bar is for the transmitting data. Q: Windows firewall is blocking the connection to another machine. What can I do? A: A little help image can be seen in the screenshots page of WormHole's page www.kezdobetu.hu/software/wormhole.png Q: Why not start the program on MOS or Linux? A: The executable flag of the programfile should be set manually because the packages are created on Amiga and the unix like file attributes can't be added there to the zip file. This will be changed in the final release. In a terminal window execute the command 'chmod +x <WormHole program file>' Q: Still not start on OSX! What can I do? A: Try to start the program in the finder while pressing the control key. This will bypass some security feature of OSX. History: 0.2 - Addded progress bars - 'Accept all' and 'Use last destination' settings works now Copyrighted materials: - Background image and icon images based on the 'Blue Swirling Portal' icon.png image from the user of analyah at cleanpng.com.
