Any one up for updating this? It would be great to see it understand SSD's and newer disks

A useful guide on interpreting the output:

At first I couldn't find the correct syntax to launch it, until I noticed some examples when launhing it with a wrong syntax. I'll copy them here for reference:

smartctl -a a1ide.device:0
(Prints all SMART information)
smartctl -s on -o on -S on a1ide.device:0
(Enables SMART on first disk)
smartctl -t long a1ide.device:0
(Executes extended disk self-test)
smartctl -A -l selftest -q errorsonly a1ide.device:0
(Prints Self-Test & Attribute errors)
