@Mikko

Hi, oh my bad, sorry for the inconvenience, thanks for reporting. A fix is uploaded now

Comment by: Mikko (91.64.86.244)At: 04 Jun 2023, 11:24File version: 0.995
Hi, there is a version mismatch, AmiUpdate always lists showfiles as an update determined by date:

Remote file "showfiles.lha 0.995 (2023-04-09)"

Local file "Extras:C/showfiles 0.995 (2023-04-08)"

thanks! :-)

Comment by: marko (83.183.213.4)At: 28 Sep 2014, 23:45File version: 0.960
Updates in version 0.960:
- Added ? switch for showing the Template.
- Added BARE option, for using bare format (no heading/summary information).
- Safety improved, added more checks concerning memory (just to be sure). (Sentinels placed around memory allocations, about 20 in total.)
- Corrected information in the HELP option.
- Typos fixed in the Options-section and in the Readme file.
- Added Format-info and Template-info to documentation.
- Added small hidden message to binary (only #JustForFun, ~60 chars).
- Added Milestones-section to documentation.

And in version 0.950: (Jun 2014)
- Added REALDATE command, shows Date in international format (yyyy-mm-dd), suggested by JosDuchIt.
- Added DATEFIRST command, Date (and Time) column is as first column, sort of suggested by JosDuchIt.
- Bugfix/change: The few first protectionbits are seen now again in MORE view. This was little "too much of a feature" that looked broken.
- Bugfix/change: The three first columns in the DEFAULT view removed, yes those should not be seen, please use option MORE instead to see those as well.
- Added Extversion (EXTVER) tag/cookie.
- Minor fixes in readme, among other small fixes.

Sorry, a typo slipped into the doc. The command for real (international) dates is: REALDATE

Like:
1> sf REALDATE

And not REALDATES as described in the doc file. Fixed internally now.

Thank you SMF, great that it works now :))

The problem was different compile switches between test-versions vs distribution-versions in my Makefile, fixed now for good hopefully...

The new file currently in the upload directory works as it should with the all option(V 0.943).
Thanks Marko.

Hmm, appears to be a "Human Error" that is causing it.. Meaning I scr*wed up somewhere ;)

(This 0.942 might be "wrong version")

*working* on it...

Nooo what a bummer, are you kidding me, very strange :S

Do you have a stack trace?

Do you get any output from ShowFiles after execution but before crashing?

Thanks for the report :)

@zzd10h

For some weird reason the AutoInstall file escaped from this upload archive ;)

But I will shortly make a new upload with that file included and some other minor fixes...

However, the ALL option bugfix have to wait a little as I suspect I have to dive alot deeper with the bug as I don't see anything obvious with it at this moment.

So in the coming weeks I might send you some tests/debugversions...

Thank you for your help zzd10h :)

Sorry Marko,
it still crashs with ALL option.

And the AmiUpdate installation doesn't work for me, I had to manually install SF.

If you need more infos, tests,etc... don't hesitate to send me a mail (mail address available in my program on OS4Depot) ;)
Bye

Thank you for the idea to add ALL option.

Unfortunately it fails for me, DSI.

Tried in Sys:C> SF ALL or in Sys:Classes> SF DIRS ALL

Is my command line wrong ?

If you want to influence a new possible name for DisplayFiles (DF), please take a look at:

Imho just choice somethink like "extended list" , like "listex" , or "exlist" or "showfile" . I.e. something which will be almost the same as default aos binary, but will just extended by the name.

@Beeblebrox

*checking*... Yep, you are right! :O - Damn it, there is a DF command on Linux as you say... I though I had checked that combination too, so there wont be any name clashes in neither OS4 nor Unix, apparently not!

Hmmm... I have to give this some though... Maybe using the full name by default as you suggest and then creating some ready made links to it with the names "DF" and perhaps "DIF" (but that's pretty close to Linux DIFF), or "DIFI" instead (that shortcut seems kinda distinctive) or something... And then let each user decide what to use... when installing...

Thank you Beeblebrox :)

Nice thing, but I'm not happy with the command name df, on amiga one knows what a file is for, because it has a full name by default. Anyone can give a it a short name with 'alias'. On Linux I sometimes have no idea what all these short named commands and libs are for.
