simple solution to use the highlighting in the console: 1. Download from aminet mmc console. 2. Set the terminal mode to pcansi "set TERM = pcansi". 3. Set the highlighting in vim: set syntax on" That's all.

Yes and no. Syntax hilighting does work, but hinders rather than helps with the
default colourscheme (and it currently needs to be enabled with a bit of
magic).

I am looking into better support for syntax hilighting but it will probably not
be possible (easily) with the standard console. The best solution would be to
write an Amiga GUI for Vim but that will take some time.
