V-MPlayer v1.6 for AmigaOS 4.1
==============================

Native media player for AmigaOS 4.1. Two programs, one folder:
Spectra      ReAction GUI 1.0 (window, lists, stage, radio)
V-MPlayer    engine 1.6 (decode, video, audio, ARexx)
This release replaces V-MPlayer 1.4.1 (Hollywood GUI).
No Hollywood runtime. Start Spectra, not the old Hollywood binary.
V-MPlayer (the engine) is free (GPL) and works fully standalone,
without Spectra and without a key:
PROGDIR:V-MPlayer "RAM:clip.avi"
Spectra GUI is shareware, 15 Euro (demo without a key). See
REGISTRATION below.
Engine: custom MPlayer + FFmpeg 9.0.1, OpenSSL/AmiSSL (HTTPS),
ARexx port MPLAYER.1, VA-API on supported Radeon HD/RX cards.
Tested on AmigaOne X5000 with Radeon RX580.
X1000: copy V-MPlayer.x1000 over V-MPlayer (do not run that
binary on X5000 - AltiVec).

(vo) is the active video output: vaapi, comp_yuv2, comp, sdl, ...
QEMU / no compositor: Spectra GUI stays off. Use the engine alone
and set vo=sdl,sdl_sm502,comp,cgx_wpa in PROGDIR:conf/config.
SDL supports window resize and does not require va.library.

WHAT'S NEW IN v1.6
------------------

Successor to Hollywood v1.4.1. Same OS4Depot slot
(video/media/v-mplayer.lha). Hollywood GUI is gone.
GUI (Spectra 1.0):

- Native ReAction GUI. No Hollywood runtime.
- Video embeds in the stage well on real AmigaOne hardware
  (compositor). No second tiny engine window for GUI playback.
- Media / Radio / Favorites tabs, Open, Open URL, drag and drop
- Seek, volume, mute, repeat, shuffle, fullscreen, OSD, subtitles
- Radio-browser.info search (needs curl + internet)
- Radio Record to PROGDIR:Records (needs key)
- Mesa GLES 3.2 visualizer on the stage (needs key + mesa.library)

Engine (V-MPlayer 1.6):
- FFmpeg 9.0.1
- Two binaries in the pack: X5000 (no AltiVec) and X1000 (G4 + AltiVec)
- Screen title / $VER: V-MPlayer 1.6 (12.09.2026) (vo)
- OpenSSL/AmiSSL kept for HTTPS (needed for DualPlay / googlevideo)
- MPEG-1/2 on X5000 uses comp_yuv2 first, not VA-API
- X1000 extra old RTG: amiga, p96_pip (alias -vo pip). Do not force
  p96_pip on HD cards (Workbench overlay artefacts). Prefer cgx_wpa
  as software fallback.
- Engine remains fully usable from CLI / YT standalone. No key.

TWO LICENCES
------------
V-MPlayer (engine)  GNU GPL version 2. Full player on its own. 
See COPYING, Copyright-MPlayer, Licence-V-MPlayer.
Spectra (GUI)       Shareware. Not GPL. See Licence-Spectra.
Do not treat the whole archive as GPL. The engine stays free even
if you never pay for Spectra. YouTube / standalone V-MPlayer does
not need a Spectra key.

REGISTRATION
------------

Spectra GUI: 15 Euro for a personal key.
A larger gift is welcome. That decides if future projects happen.

You receive a small text file named license.key:

Copy it next to the Spectra binary (same drawer):
PROGDIR:license.key
Then: menu V-MPlayer -> Register... -> Load key.
About shows "Registered to Your Name". Do not rename the file.
Do not publish the key.
Without a key the GUI is a demo. A reminder appears about every
15 minutes (unless iconified).

Now Playing shows the title. Radio ICY titles appear there.
On real hardware the picture sits in the black stage well.
Media tab:
Open files or a folder, Open URL / Go, drag and drop. Del removes
the selected row. Clear list empties the list. Playlist save to
ENVARC:Spectra/playlist.txt needs a key. Filenames with special
characters are cleaned on import. Folder cover.jpg / folder.png
can show on the audio stage.
Radio tab:
Built-in internet radio via radio-browser.info. Type a genre and
Search (needs curl + internet). Double-click a station to play.
Record writes into PROGDIR:Records (needs a key). Demo can still
listen. Do not enable MPlayer -cache; streams use lavfdopts cache
in PROGDIR:conf/config.

Favorites:

Needs a key. Add current station or title. Stored in
ENVARC:Spectra/favorites.txt.
Visualizer (audio only, needs key + SYS:Libs/mesa.library):
Button / key V cycles built-in GLES 3.2 scenes, then off:
  Equalizer 3D
  Beat Strobe
  Spectrum Ring
  PCM Scope
  Orbit Halo
Video playback turns the visualizer OFF so the picture stays clear.
PCM comes from named memory Spectra/vis.
Idle / radio still art also needs a key + compositor.
Mesa is the Spectra stage (viz / idle art), never a video VO.
mesa.library is not in this archive. Use the free Mesa from OS4Depot
(kas1e) and install SYS:Libs/mesa.library:

Deinterlace. Saved in ENVARC:Spectra/vfilter.txt.
EQ (needs key):
Live 10-band equalizer via ARexx AF_CMDLINE.
Karaoke and Extra stereo apply from the next play.
Saved in ENVARC:Spectra/afilter.txt.
Skins / plugins:
Skins in PROGDIR:Skins/<Name>/ (banner.png + bg.png).
Built-in: Neon, Studio, Ice. Keep banner.png around 720 x 88.
Optional GLES plugins: PROGDIR:Plugins/#?.library (needs key).

Complete player by itself. Own window. No Spectra, no key.
YouTube in the YT tool starts this engine standalone - do not
start or quit Spectra for that. DualPlay googlevideo is HTTPS;
do not rewrite those URLs to HTTP (Google 403).
Audio output: SDL (AHI via SDL).
Do not set MPlayer cache= (cache2). Leave lavfdopts=cache=...
as in conf/config.

VIDEO OUTPUT

Spectra picks -vo. conf/config is the default if you start the
engine alone.
X5000 (Radeon HD/RX, compositor):

Then use standalone V-MPlayer.
SAM460 / SM502: no 460 engine in this pack (X5000 is e5500,
X1000 is G4+AltiVec). Standalone sdl / sdl_sm502 / cgx_wpa may
work only with a matching binary. Spectra stage needs compositor.

INSTALLATION
------------
Copy the whole drawer to any location. Keep the layout above.
X5000: use V-MPlayer as it is. Do not run V-MPlayer.x1000.
X1000: copy V-MPlayer.x1000 over V-MPlayer (same name).
The GUI always launches PROGDIR:V-MPlayer.
Start: double-click Spectra. It runs PROGDIR:V-MPlayer when you
Play and talks to MPLAYER.1 via ARexx.
Engine alone (no GUI, no key):
PROGDIR:V-MPlayer "RAM:clip.avi"
