This is a collection of some (more or less) simple games for the AmiCygnix
Unix environment. Most games are board- or cardgames. Each game can be in-
stalled separately!

New in version 1.6
------------------

  * New game "Pioneers", a clone of "Settlers of Catan".

  * New versions:
    - Ace 1.4 instead of version 1.2. The card game "Spider" has been added and
the card game "Solitaire" offers new possibilities.
The GUI tool for starting the individual games has been revised and
      optimized for standalone start.
    - XEmeraldia 0.4.3 instead of version 0.4.1. The graphics have been
      optimized.
    - XGalaga 2.1.1.0 instead of version 2.0.34. The playing field is now bigger
and a variation called "Hyperspace" is now included.
    - The xMahjongg GUI tool has been revised and optimized for standalone
      start.

  * All programs have been recompiled. Programs that require GTK+ 2 now use
    GTK+ 2.24.32.

  * All programs can now be started "Standalone".

  * The icon set has been updated. Thanks to Thomas Blatt!

Included games
--------------

  * The Ace of Penguins

A collection of one-player games for X. Every game has an compiled in online
help (except canfield). Type 'h' to view it. With 'r' you can restart the
game. Type 'q' to quit the game.

    - canfield - a cardgame
    - freecell - a cardgame
    - golf - a cardgame
    - mastermind - the well known code-breaking game
    - merlin - a logic game similar to "lights out"
    - minesweeper - the well known logic game
    - pegged - a board game
    - solitaire - a card game
    - spider - a card game
    - taipei - a mahjongg like game
    - taipedit - an editor for taipei
    - thornq - a cardgame

For your convenience I wrote the launcher "Ace GUI", from where you can
    start every game easily.

  * BomberClone - A game like "Super Bomberman". With network support.

    Homepage: http://www.bomberclone.de

  * GLightOff - a simple (but not so easy to solve!) puzzle game. The goal is
turning off all the lights on the board. GLightOff uses the GTK2
                toolkit.

  * gSoko - a GTK+ clone of the famous Sokoban game. The goal of the game is to
push all the boxes on the squares with a red pattern.

  * gTans - the Tangram is a chinese puzzle. The object is to put seven
geometric shapes together so as to form a given outline.

    Homepage: No longer available

  * GtkAtlantic - a game like "Monopoly" (tm).

GtkAtlantic is a network game. There is a server for local games, but a
public server can also be used.
For a local game, the server must first be started and then a client for
    each player.

    Local game:
    - Start the GtkAtlantik-Server via the panel menu or via the
"Start_GtkAtlantic-Server_Standalone.bat" script, which is located in the
      "Cygnix:Software/GtkAtlantic-0.4.2" directory.
    - Then start a client and click "Enter". Start the client either via the
panel menu or via the "Start_GtkAtlantic_Standalone.bat" script.
    - Then click on "Get games", select the local server in the list above and
      then click on "CREATE/JOIN GAME".

    Public game:
    - Start a client and click "Enter".
    - Click on "Refresh games", select a server in the list and then click on
      "CREATE/JOIN GAME".

Repeat the above steps for each new player

  * Pioneers - a clone of the board game "Settlers of Catan".

Pioneers is a network game. There is a server for local games, but a public
    server can also be used.
For a local game, the server must first be started and then a client for
    each player.

    Local game:
      - Start the Pioneers server via the panel menu OR via the script
"Start_Pioneers-Server_Standalone.bat", which is located in the
        directory "Cygnix:Software/Pioneers-14.1".
      - Then make the desired settings and start the server by clicking on
        "Start Server".
      - If the server was started "Standalone", it is recommended to start the
client for a player via the script Start_Pioneers_Standalone.bat ".
When starting from the desktop, click on "Launch Pioneers Client" in the
        server window.
      - More players can be added like this or you can start a computer player
        with "Add Computer Player".

The local server can be registered publicly!

    Public game:
      - Start a client via the panel menu OR via the
"Start_Pioneers_Standalone.bat" script, which is located in the
        "Cygnix:Software/Pioneers-14.1" directory.
      - Enter your name in the window that opens and then click on
        "Join Public Game".
The server "pioneers.debian.net" does not seem to be online anymore,
        therefore select "pioneers.game-host.org".
      - Then select the game you want from the list and click "OK".

  * Sudoku-Savant - a clone of the board game "Sudoku".

           animated tutorial.

  * XEmeraldia - a variation of the game "Tetris".

    Homepage: http://www.reloco.com.ar/xemeraldia

  * XGalaga - a clone of the shoot 'em up game Galaga for X11.

    Homepage: http://sourceforge.net/projects/xgalaga

  * XLightOff - the X11 version of GLightOff. Has an ugly GUI, but with some
                additional features.

    Homepage: http://sed.free.fr/xlightoff

  * XMahjongg - a solitaire game. The object is to remove all 144 Mah Jongg
tiles from the playing area by matching them two at a time.

For your convenience I wrote the launcher "xmahjongg-gui", where you can
select the tile design, the board style, the background gfx and finally
    launch the game.
